Courtroom Scenes in Movies
The popularity of a good courtroom scene comes to no surprise, because they have it all – suspense, mystery, relief, shock, justice, all equaling… overall drama (which we know is the whole point of a good movie). If you look close enough, you will notice the court reporter in the corner taking down the transcript, and I’m sure if you are watching with company you will point and say “That’s me over there!”
Courtroom dramas go all the way back to 458 BC, when Aeschylus — the earliest surviving Greek playwright — wrote The Oresteia, which was a tale of vengeance and redemption centering on the murder of Agamemnon by his wife Clytemnestra, and her murder at the hands of her son, Orestes (https://bit.ly/2qtavD5).
Since then, we have seen a plethora of moving courtroom scenes in modern cinema. I’m sure countless jaw-dropping scenes come to your mind.
