The NCRA’s CRR Boot Camp
The NCRA continues to provide new and innovative opportunities for professionals to experience court reporting and further their court reporting careers. A new program offers the opportunity to attend a Certified Realtime Reporter Boot Camp.
The NCRA offers the CRR, Certified Realtime Reporter certification. Earning this certification represents realtime proficiency for those who earn it as recognized in the industry as the national certification of realtime competency.
The boot camp is a way to help court reporters increase their chances of passing the CRR test on their first try, and it is also a way of letting court reporters figure out whether they are ready for the test or not.
Becoming realtime certified is a huge bonus in the court reporting world. With today’s technology, more and more attorneys are requiring strictly realtime proficient court reporters. Having access to the transcript as it is being recorded is highly valuable. Realtime increases the pressure for court reporters, but the benefit is that it also increases the salary.
