Most Popular Opening Questions for Remote Depositions
Have questions about the effectiveness of remote depositions? In response to some of the great client stories we received in 2020 regarding their remote deposition needs, we put together some ways to address the concerns of conducting a remote deposition while on the record.
There are a few ways that attorneys are changing their approach to alleviate the concern of witness coaching or external communication, presenting exhibits, and acknowledging remote technology.
In-Person Deposition Guidelines
With guidance from health officials, we have implemented a series of steps and tools to make our environment as safe as possible - ensuring that you have a safe in-person deposition experience. First, in every office we are focused on limiting occupancy and providing everyone with plenty of room to stay safely socially distant.
Second, face coverings will be required for all team members, reporters and videographers. Where not required by local health officials, face coverings are also recommended for clients and deponents - especially when moving freely around the office.
Third, we will be asking health question checks at the door to screen for those with symptoms or who have been exposed to someone either showing COVID-19 symptoms or someone who has been infected with COVID-19. Throughout the day and after each deposition, we are conducting enhanced cleaning with a special emphasis on high traffic areas and hard surfaces such as tables, chairs and doorknobs.

Choosing the Right Remote Deposition Platform for You
Depositions do not come in a “one-size fits all” package, and neither should your remote platform. Reliable remote deposition solutions are important to you. We provide you with different choices and allow for the flexibility to choose your remote deposition platform based on your case needs.
When choosing a remote deposition platform, you want to be sure it’s the right choice for you. After all, you want everything to go as smoothly as possible. Here are a few things to consider when selecting your next remote deposition platform:
- Do you want the ability to do more than just screenshare exhibits?
- Do you have the ability and opportunity to attend a demo or prep session?
- Is opposing counsel hesitant to agree to a remote deposition?
- Are the parties that are involved, including the deponent, tech-savvy?
- Is live support during your deposition available to you?
Whether using our signature remote deposition platforms, RingHuseby or HusebyConnect, or your preferred platform, we’ve got you covered.
