real-time technology and computerized litigation support
services. In 1989, Huseby, Inc. provided instant real-time
transcripts to the Court and counsel in the $750 million class
action lawsuit against defunct evangelist Jim Baker and the
PTL Organization.
In 1993, Huseby, Inc. introduced Caseview software into
the federal court in New Bern, North Carolina by providing
real-time translation of court proceedings on notebook
computers for the Court, counsel and other interested parties
in the AZT patent rights case in North Carolina as well as the
Zantac patent rights case in Elizabeth City, North Carolina in
1993 and 1996. (Burroughs Wellcome vs. Barr Labs and Glaxo vs.
Novopharm.)
In 1995 Huseby, Inc., with the help of the North
Carolina Shorthand Reporters Association, donated equipment
and training to the State of North Carolina to develop the
State's first computer-integrated courtroom in Charlotte,
North Carolina.
Huseby, Inc. provided realtime daily transcripts for the
Court and counsel in the murder trial of basketball star
Michael Jordan's father in Lumberton, North Carolina. With cameras barred from the courtroom, daily transcripts of
the trial proceedings were published to the Internet for court, counsel
and interested parties.
